GroenVallei is situated 140km from Pretoria within the Loskop Dam Nature Reserve. Come explore the bush and its abundant animal, bird and insect life on foot alongside one of the world’s most beautiful natural waters and rock features. Identify over 70 species of mammals, including 3 of the Big Five (Buffalo, White Rhino and Leopard). 117 bird species and over 60 types of indigenous trees as well as several reptiles and butterflies. GroenVallei is a malaria-free area, situated alongside Loskop Dam. Loskop Dam is 27km long and measures over 2 350 hectares within the Loskop Dam Nature Reserve. Other fascinating wildlife you will find is hippo, warthog, giraffe, zebra and plenty of buck.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Welcome to Groenvallei Game Farm — beautifully secluded, wonderfully peaceful, and proudly off the grid.

Because we’re not connected to any municipal water or electricity supply, the farm runs entirely on nature’s good graces:

  • Water comes from a natural source,
  • Electricity from the sun,
  • And the geysers run on gas.

This means there is a small chance you might wake up one morning without water, electricity, gas — or, if nature is really feeling cheeky, all three at once. Think of it as part of the adventure… or a character-building exercise.

If you suspect this might be a bit too much “character building” for your liking, it’s perfectly fine to say so upfront — we’d both prefer smiles over complaints later.

Everyone else: pack your sense of humour and enjoy the experience and more likely adventure.
